A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

We retain an email message as needed to answer it. The message remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Links may lead to sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid, or third-party service websites. Once a visitor leaves our pages, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal details.

Iowa Code chapter 22 governs public records held by government bodies, while chapter 692 controls criminal-history collection and dissemination.
